    Times Square

Times Square is a busy intersection of art and commerce, where the chaos of hundreds of advertisements vie for viewers' attention. The stores along Broadway and the huge number of animated neon signs have long made it one of New York's iconic images, and an instantly recognizable symbol of the most urban aspects of Manhattan. Times Square is the only neighborhood with zoning ordinances that actually require building owners to display illuminated signs. The density of this neighborhood's neon signs now rivals that of Las Vegas.

The neighborhood is home to a number of major TV station headquarters and broadcast centers, such as MTV, ABC and NBC, where shows like David Letterman, TRL Live and more are filmed in front of studio audiences. Times Square is also the site of the famous annual New Year's Eve ball drop. The neighborhood has played host to this massive and spectacular celebration since 1907, with hundreds of thousands of people congregating to watch the crystal ball being lowered down to mark the start of the new year.

With additional attractions like Madame Tussauds Wax Museum, Ripley's Believe It Or Not, the famous Broadway theaters, Port Authority Bus Terminal, the New York Times building, as well as huge Toys "Я" Us, Virgin Records, Hershey's and M&M's stores, themed restaurants like Planet Hollywood, a number of multiplex movie theaters and access to all major subway lines, this is the heart and soul of the Big Apple and an ideal location for tourists, vacationers and businesspeople alike.
